Nestled on the edge of Melrose in a peaceful setting overlooked by the beautiful Eilden Hills is Melrose Gibson Park Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite. With charming shops, restaurants, pubs and historic buildings like Melrose Abbey within a short walk, our site offers tent camping and is ideal for families, couples, friends and dogs owners. Walking enthusiasts have 1,500 miles of footpaths to explore along the banks of the Tweed or by hiking up into the High Country to view the Scottish Borders’ picturesque, rural patchwork. There are cycle routes as well as fishing in the River Tweed and a golf course nearby. Events like Melrose Sevens Rugby Tournament and Melrose Festival are not to be missed.

- SBSteve BlandMay 19, 20265.0A lovely camp site right on the edge of the town centre in Melrose. We have camped here before a few times as it is great to catch a train or bus into Edinburgh. Melrose is a lovely friendly place with an historical Abbey and cafes and restaurants. The staff of the camp site are extremely helpful an friendly, lovely site lovely people.
- MBMarieke BMay 17, 20261.0Scotland taught me many things: how to cycle through horizontal rain, how to dry socks on a moving bike, and how absurdly kind people can be. This campsite taught me something too: apparently a solo female bikepacker with a tiny tent is a greater fire hazard than an empty field full of departed schoolchildren. I arrived exhausted after a long day of cycling, asking for one small patch of grass for one night. The designated tent field was “reserved for school kids” who had already gone home hours earlier. Fine, I thought, maybe there’s another corner somewhere. But no. Every possible square meter was suddenly blocked by mysterious “fire regulations.” My tent is smaller than most family picnic blankets, but apparently still capable of bringing down Sxotland in flames. What made this experience disappointing wasn’t that they couldn’t help. It was very clear they simply didn’t want to. Luckily this was the only genuinely unfriendly experience I had during my entire trip through Scotland, which says a lot more about Scotland than it does about this campsite.

Can non-members book campsites online?
Yes, non-members can book selected Club campsites online. Non-members are required to pay an additional supplement of �15 per night to stay upon arrival at site. Tent pitches can also be booked online, there is no non-member supplement to be paid when booking a tent pitch.
Does the Club own any overseas sites?
We work closely with over 310 campsites which are regularly visited and inspected by Club staff. We don't own or directly manage any overseas sites.

Do I need a different driving licence for driving a motorhome or towing a caravan?
If you passed your test before 1st January 1997, you are able to drive any combination of car and caravan, or any motorhome with a weight of up to 7500kg (or 8250kg with a trailer). If your licence starts after 1st January 1997 then you can drive a car and caravan with a combined maximum weight of 3500kg (or 4250kg to include a small trailer weighing no more than 750kg). You can also drive a motorhome with a weight of up to 3500kg (with a small trailer of up to 750kg, or a heavier trailer if the combined maximum weight is no more than 3500kg). For all drivers aged 70 and over, the motorhome weight allowance is reduced to 3500kg maximum weight, unless a medical report is supplied.

How do I access the free Wi-Fi?
When you arrive at the campsite, you will be able to access FREE Wi-Fi (for basic browsing and emails only) after registering on the portal. The portal is only available when you are located in the hotspot area on a Club campsite offering Wi-Fi.
Where on the site will the hotspot be located?
The wireless hotspot will be located close to reception. Sharing a limited bandwidth with others may also vary the speed of service with some sites being a distance from the exchange. Our service is suitable for basic web surfing and emails but not updates or streaming e.g. BBC iPlayer and YouTube.
Do I have to be a member to stay on a UK campsite?
Non-members are welcome to book and stay at many of the Club campsites, however there are some that are member-exclusive. This information is available on each individual campsite webpage. Members may bring friends or family too, as long as they stay for the same duration.
How long can you stay on a Club Campsite?
Yes, however, if you have multiple pitch types booked within the duration of your stay, it may not be possible for you to remain on the same pitch for your entire stay. During busy periods you will potentially need to move to the pitch(es) you originally booked.
Can I stay on Club campsites with a tent?
It�s likely that since the Directory was printed, the campsite has withdrawn from our network and so will not appear online. If you feel that there is still an error, please phone us on 01342 327 490.

Are trailer tents and folding campers welcome?
Boats aren�t designed to be used for accommodation on land and so, unfortunately, we don�t accept them on our campsites. The only exception to this is Wilderness Boats, which are small canal boats that are purposely designed for dual use on the land and in the water. Are roof top tents welcome?
New members can have online access as little as one hour after joining online. Your email confirmation containing your membership number usually arrives within 48 hours of joining online.
Are boats on trailers welcome?
You can include a joint member to your membership free of charge. Additional family members can be added for �10 each. Joint and family members must live at the same address as the lead member and be over 18 years old.

If you are the full member you can amend your membership details under My Profile. You can also amend your membership details, including amending joint or family members, by using Webchat or phoning our membership services line.
